Coach
Coach Harrison brings thirty years of coaching experience to Respect The Game. Coaching has always been a passion of Coach Harrison’s. Throughout his coaching journey, he has learned the discipline and the drive to be successful in all facets of his life. Coach Harrison spent ten years as the Brentwood Boys’ Junior Varsity Coach and Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach at Brentwood High school. During that time, he was named Junior Varsity Coach of the Year four times. Coach Harrison then went on to take over the Girls’ Varsity Basketball Program at Brentwood High School as their head coach. Throughout his nine-year run, Coach Harrison led the Girls’ Varsity Team to six playoff appearances, three final fours, and a league championship. Also, Coach Harrison was named the League I Girls’ Varsity Basketball Coach of the Year in 2015. Coach Harrison is excited to share his love for the game and his extensive knowledge with his RTG players.
Coach Perez has been coaching basketball and football for over twenty years. His
experience spans from AAU to the high school level. In addition, Coach Perez has an
extensive background in athletic administration.
Coach Perez was a coach and Athletic Administrator for the Wantagh/Seaford PAL for
over fifteen years. Also, Coach Perez ran a youth basketball fundamentals program for
Positive Direction in Queens for twelve years and started his own basketball program,
South Shore Pride, on Long Island in 2002.Througout his experience, Coach Perez
traveled to over 15 states coaching multiple boys and girls teams in National AAU
tournaments, winning numerous championships, and helping many student athletes attend college on basketball scholarships. In August 2023, Coach Perez merged his
basketball program South Shore Pride with Respect The Game.
Coach Perez’s passion for basketball began at 7 years old and continued all the way to
Utica College where she played for four years. Throughout her experience, she played
AAU travel basketball from 6th to 12th grade with Positive Direction in Queens, played
varsity high school basketball at Wantagh High School, and went on to play Division III
basketball at Utica College. Currently, Kristina coaches JV girls’ basketball at Wantagh
High School.
Basketball has been a passion of Coach Jackson’s his entire life. Upon graduating from
Bay Shore High School, Coach Jackson received a scholarship to play basketball at
Bethune Cookman University where he graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice.
After excelling at the collegiate level, Coach Jackson was signed to play professional
basketball in El Salvador, where he played for three seasons.
Currently, Coach Jackson is the Assistant Girls’ Varsity Basketball Coach at Brentwood
High School and is a basketball official. Coach Jackson’s passion for coaching is never
more apparent than when he is sharing his knowledge for the game with his players.
Coach McGriff graduated from The University of Buffalo in 2021, where he showcased
his skills on the University at Buffalo Basketball Team. In addition, Coach McGriff is
actively participating in various Pro-AM Tournaments. Currently, Coach McGriff works
at ACDS, an agency that serves families of children and adults with a wide range of
disabilities that include Down syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Speech and
Language Delays, and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). In addition
Coach McGriff is contributing to the development of emerging talents within the
Respect The Game Basketball program.
Basketball has been a part of Coach Koerner’s life ever since he can remember. Coach
Koerner’s passion for basketball started at a very young age and continued as a member of the Varsity Basketball Team at Brentwood High School. Although he still loves to play, Coach Koerner gets his greatest joy teaching kids the game of basketball. He spent ten years as the Assistant Girls’ Varsity Basketball Coach at Brentwood High School. During his time as an assistant coach, he helped guide the Brentwood Girls’ Varsity Team to the playoffs seven consecutive seasons, a League I Championship, and three Suffolk County Final Four
appearances. Currently, Coach Koerner is an Elementary School Physical Education Teacher in the Brentwood School District. Coach Koerner is excited to share his love of the game with kids of all ages.
